Complete house refurbishments in South East London with Prestige build & Management

Some homes need more than a new kitchen. They need rewiring, new heating, a better layout and every room brought up to date, often all at once. A full house refurbishment brings everything together into one carefully planned project, so your home is finished to a consistent high standard from the front door to the back garden.

Our team has been refurbishing homes across South East London for over 20 years, many of them Victorian and Edwardian properties. We manage the whole project for you: the design, planning, trades, materials and finishes.

What a full house refurbishment can include

Every project is different, but a typical full refurbishment covers:

•     Strip-out and demolition, including removal of old services, finishes and non-structural walls

•     Structural alterations such as steel beams, knock-throughs and new openings, with structural engineering arranged by us

•     Complete rewiring, new lighting design and a new consumer unit

•     Replumbing, new heating systems and underfloor heating

•     Insulation, damp treatment and repairs to brickwork and chimneys

•     New kitchens and bathrooms, designed around how you live

•     Plastering, new floors, bespoke joinery and built-in storage

•     Full decoration and interior design guidance, down to colours and finishes

•     Roof replacement, loft conversion or extension as part of the same project

•     Gardens and landscaping to finish the outside to match

Period property specialists

Much of South East London is made up of Victorian and Edwardian houses, and they need a builder who understands them. Older homes often hide surprises behind the plaster, so we plan for them. Our experience means we can price realistically, spot problems early and suggest cost-effective solutions when the unexpected appears.

We're equally careful with what makes a period home special. Where you want to keep original features, we work around them sympathetically and finish the new work to sit naturally alongside them.

Combine your refurbishment with more space

Many of our clients use a full refurbishment as the moment to add space as well. Doing it all together means one programme, one set of trades on site and less disruption overall. Common combinations are:

•     A rear or wraparound kitchen extension with a complete refurbishment of the rest of the house

•     A loft conversion to add a bedroom and bathroom while the house is already being rewired and replumbed

•     A roof replacement while scaffolding is already up

How we manage your project

A whole-house project has a lot of moving parts. We make it manageable:

•     One point of contact. Your dedicated Project Manager runs the site and keeps you informed.

•     A detailed works programme. It sets out every stage and when items such as kitchens, glazing and sanitaryware need to arrive.

•     Transparent pricing. You get a detailed quotation and agreed payments at clear milestones, not open-ended invoices.

•     Certification and handover. All electrical, gas and plumbing certificates, manuals and warranties are handed over at sign-off.

•     Aftercare. Snagging is done 1–2 weeks after completion, followed by a six-month courtesy call.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a full house refurbishment take?

It depends on the size of the house and the scope of work. A typical full refurbishment takes 8-12 months, and longer if it includes an extension or loft conversion. We'll give you a detailed works programme before we start.

How much does a full house refurbishment cost?

Every house is different, so we don't publish a one-size-fits-all price. Tell us about your property and what you'd like to achieve, and we'll send you an estimated build price. Once the design is finalised, you'll receive a detailed, fixed quotation.

Can we live in the house during the work?

For most full refurbishments, especially those involving rewiring, new heating and structural work, it's safer, quicker and usually more cost-effective to move out. We'll talk this through with you at the survey stage and plan the programme around your situation.

Do I need planning permission?

Most internal refurbishment work doesn't need planning permission, but structural, electrical and drainage work must meet Building Regulations, and we arrange building control inspections for you. Listed buildings, conservation areas and any extensions may need permission, and we'll advise and handle the applications.

Can you help with the interior design?

Yes. We can guide you from demolition all the way to the final choice of colours, finishes and furnishings, and provide 3D visuals so you can see the result before work starts.
